Default 2001 Honda Accord Transmission Question

Hello, i'm new to this forum. I have 2001 honda accord, and i have a question about a few things. 1st thing every once and while the side air bag light flickers on and off since i bought the car used in 2004 from a certified honda dealer. Also the emergency brake light comes on and stays on. I drove down to Deleware University from New York and the brake light stayed on the entire drive down. Plus it's come on and stayed on when i've driven the car around town a few times. Lastly i think something is going on with the transmission. When i'm accelerating from a stop, and it shifts from first to second there's a slight jerk and when i was driving a few weeks ago the transmission slipped when i was accerelating. It was a short slip, but i noticed it. Or maybe it's just me noticing things. - Thanks Karl

OPDS/SRS: should be under warranty. Get it checked out

brakes: check your parking brake switch...you gotta take the a section of the console apart to get to it

Transmission: it is toast and unless you have more than 100K on it go get the dealer to replace it since trans warranty is for 7 year 100K. even if you are a few K over see about getting it fixed for free

V6 or I4 either way trans is crap on these cars

Ditto.

You can also clean the electrical connectors going to the brake fluid resevoir. Doing so fixed the brake light problem on a few different Hondas that I've worked on.

yeah it's I4, i replaced all the brakes in July of 2005. Maybe it's just a dirty connection somewhere, my sister used the car a lot and never bothered to wash it so. Yeah the car has 61k

"check your parking brake switch...you gotta take the a section of the console apart to get to it"
What a dufus!!!

open the cap of the brake fluid reservoir and check the level of the fluid, before you start ripping out the interior of the car.
The trans has an extended warranty, take it to the dealership

I'm noob here, so there is no need to call me a ******* dufus. seriously and second i don't know where you live but it hasn't even gotten out of the 20 degree mark here in about 2 weeks. 3rd i'm not tearing apart the console of my car because i'm very unfamilar with it. I'm more familiar with Chevy's and GMC's because i've worked on them before. Jesus Christ

The dufus remark that he made wasn't intended for you, 2001HondaAccord17. And I'm not sure why you mentioned how cold it is there, but you can still pop the hood and check the brake fluid level.

Please calm down and don't take things so personally, especially if they weren't even directed towards you.
