im hearing a wierd ticking noise coming from my engine when im warming up my car or even just idling waiting at a stop or something.. people been telling me its just the injectors im thinking different i called my friend that works for honda and hopefully i'll have a day off to bring it in.. but in the mean time anyone have any ideas on whats the problem or is having the same problem?

 

I hear the same thing on my LX, but after it warms up it goes away. Let us know what you find out.

 

Why don't you think it's the injectors? Hondas DO that. Mine does it all the time, idling or whatnot.

I thought it was just my car! I just got an '07 LX coupe about a month ago, and I've recently noticed the 'ticking' sound as well. I seem to notice mine more after I've been driving for a while though, and definately only while idling.

Guess it's normal, but I've never owned a Honda before.

Yes, its the injectors. And it will get worst if you get CAI.

you think that maybe it could be the lifters? Had that problem with another car i own and had to get bigger bore lifters just a thought. CAI=cold air intake

 

It could the injectors. My SI does the same thing and it was confirmed to be only injector noise.

However, if it is something else, the only thing I could imagine it might be is the EGR valve (if it has one) or possibly the valves if your running too light an oil (5w - 20).

Just my thoughts.
