J's Front Fender. Im confused as hell. How wide 20mm? 40mm?
Wassup guys. I am setting up my buddy for some new wheels for his s2k, but I am having a hard time figuring out if the j's front fender is 20mm each side or 40 mm each side. I'm getting a differnt variety of answers and its confusing me. I don't want to mess up his front set up by either being to "sunk in" or to "stuck out".
J.E.T/Santos you guys are or was running this set up correct? Any input is perfect. Thanks

40mm wider per side. i've seen 17x9+20something on them which confirmes the 40mm.
one of the members on s2ki also got 17x9+22 for his j fenders.

J's widen 20mm per side, 40mm in total. JET and I are running the Varis set up with the same width increase.
The front Blister Fender kit replaces the OEM fenders and are not "over-fenders", the rears are.

aj racing says you can go as low as 17x9+28 with a 255.
a 20mm fender will not let that clear.
they're 40mm per side.
also tp-ap1 runs 17x9+44 all around on varis fenders (15mm) and he had to shave the fenders some and add some camber to clear.

Okay. So the J's Fender is 20mm per side, 40mm total correct?

So its 40mm each side/ 80mm total?

They're +20mm, more like 25mm when I measured them out. I can fit OEM rear 17s on there with a 5mm spacer and 255 tires.
My head hurts
so there 20mm ("25mm") each/ 40mm both. Not 40 each side.
First i thought it was 40 each, now 20 each, then i jumped back to 40 each, now im jumping back to 20 each., then back to 40 each.
But like what they said. I am seeing someone run a CE 17x9+22 with J's fenders, so it has to be a 40 each then correct. Blah.

that can't be. they wouldn't clear a 17x9+28 with a 255 if that were the case.
hunterez has asm fenders (25mm) and 17x9+45. and it clears, but you can tell there's not much more space.. .not enough to clear a +28 on a 255
and i'm almost positive i can fit an oem rear with a 5mm spacer and 255 on oem fender.
the wheel+spacer would put the wheel 14mm past the oem 17. that's hardly agressive enough to cause a problem. if it does rub slightly, it wouldn't without the spacer.
OBSeRiouSo, i see where the confusion is coming in
here's a qoute from Aj Pwr on s2ki.
"Wheels to work with the J's fender setup , you can run up to 17x9 +28 offset with 255 tires but I will suggest 17x9 +35 to give it a bit more clearance."
you're talking about wheels that push out 45 and 52mm further out than oem 17's.

17x8 +38 with a 235/40 tire fits. I don't know about putting a +28 up front though... I'd need something aggressive in the back to match, which means more parts, more work, more headaches...
So its 40mm each then!
right?!? hahaha. Its going to be a confusing set up because my buddy is gonna run these fenders with a BBK so I want to make Sure i get the most out of this set up. 40mm it is. Final answer....lol

It's 40mm each side and 80mm total. A friend of mine had the J's fenders and it's wide as hell. I hope this clears it up for you.
He was running these wheels:
Work S1 3pc
Front are 18x7.5 +37 offset with 225/40/18 tires
Here's how they looked with the J's fenders with a lot of clearance:

I win! So where's my cookie?

That's one reason I ended up getting the fenders. The J's fenders are too wide for my taste.

It looks like he has about another 2 inches of play under there. Hmmmmm...
9.5 +37 should be perfect under with a nice stretch. hmmmm...
