Default How hard is it to keep jdm recaros clean?

I did a search on the subject, and know you can use a few different things to clean them. However, im stuck between getting mint black recaros or red ones in similar shape.

I like both seats and will be happy with either one, although I have some concerns on keeping the red ones in good shape since I will be daily driving my car. I notice they get black marks on the bolsters. Is this just from normal usage? any way to prevent it? How do yours look compared to when you first got them? Thanks for any input

It's preference man, depends on what you want to get and how neat you are... Personally, I have some minor OCD, so I'm really cleanly; therefore, I know that my yellow Recaros won't get dirty (even though everyone tells me they will.)

i just remembered also, i have one of these for my drivers seat:

the official recaro company/distributor/whatever for the UK sells them, either in red or black and have the Integra Type-R logo stitched on them where RECARO normally is.

its helped keep my drivers seat in mint condition even when wearing shitty clothes from work etc.

pictures of it fitted etc. on request

I'd also recommend scotchguard if you ever get your seats clean to a point that you want to keep them at.

The issue that some may argue is that over time you will wear out the side bulsters from getting in and out of the car every day. With time the sides will beggin to wear out and fade. The best way to reduce this, it's by "jumping" over the side bulster when you go in and when you get out. Eventually you will develope a technique that works for you, at least thats what I've been doing
I try to be very careful everytime i go in & out of the car. Yes its a hassle but its something you have to live with if you want JDM Recaros.

I have seen some folks that just dont care & they slide in and out of the seats or they'll just sit on the side bulsters. It all comes down to how you want to take care of your seats, you can always take it a step further "rotate" the passanger seat with the driver seat to not wear out 1 seat while the other one remains normal.

A little side note. I'm not too familiar with the later version of the Recaro seats that came out in Japan in the RSX (Integra in japan), but I believe they are a bit wider than our generation Recaros. I've heard that they are a bit more comfortable than ours. Like I said I'm not too familiar with them but you can always do some reasearch and find out if you can bolt those seats in our Recaro rails and have wider recaros. Just a thought.

Then if thats the case my suggestion is that if you aren't a thin guy get the later version Recaros. If memory serves me right they are made exactly like ours just wider and the Recaro wording is bigger on the seat. Also they come in more colors.

To get out of my car while on the driver side i place my left hand on the step area of the door frame and my right hand on the upper frame area of the door (while open of course and just pull myself up That easy

No.
Recaros are bigger and heavier.

Wow, I've forgotten how expensive these bad boys are brand new.

Good thing we can buy them used for way less than 1 seat brand new and without rails I might add.

All depends on you how clean they remain. Dosn't matter what it is... they will only stay as clean as you keep them.
