how in the hell do you post a picture ?
I wanted to upload a picture for the top left corner of my posts. I tryed to click on browse to create my own avatar and then save the image and it took like forever and it never saved it. I would appreciate some help.

Click on Browse
Find a pick on your hard drive and double click on it
click on save.

Perhaps you ignored the instructions on the screen when you select an avatar, where it says:
You are allowed to provide a custom avatar if you wish. You may upload GIF & JPG files. The image must be smaller than 70 x 70 pixels or it will be scaled to fit. The file must be smaller than 200000 bytes.
Just a thought.
