Help...Need people with CTR pistons to show my Honda dealer.
Hi there,
I need people with CTR pistons installed on 98 ITR´s.
Just need you to answer 2 simple questions.
Do you have CTR pistons on a 98 ITR ?
How long do you have the CTR pistons ?
Thanks, i really need this to show my Honda dealer.
Thanks,
Pinota

I need ITR owners with CTR pistons installed.
They want to know if it´s possible to run with CTR pistons and if there´s another ITR owners running CTR pistons.
Just those 2 questions.

Dude, how many times now have people told you that it works, and works well? All your previous threads lead to the same answer:
Whoever was working on your car fucked up, and you shouldn't have even thought about running the car hard while untuned.

thank you....exactly my thoughts
Thanks for the info.
I already know they work fine.
I need to print this post cause they told me too, get some people with CTR pistons to show them.
That´s simple.

What the hell type of mechanic do you have? So in other words he will help you out on fixing your engine if you show him a post from honda tech with people saying "I have CTR pistons, they work fine" How in the world would that help anyone?
Whats to say if people are telling the truth? And what does it matter if they had them and it worked theres alot more involved with getting something to work (tuning, parts working in conjunction, etc.)
Hell here ya go.
CTR Pistons, Head milled 40 thousandths, Custom cams with 14mm lift 325 deg duration and I spin it to 12K rpm

sounds like you don't have the expertise you need to run 12:1 compression in Lisbon. If your mechanic is lacking knowledge and confidence in assembling and tuning a shortblock with that much CR, perhaps you should stick to something more conservative like JDM ITR pistons with a 2 layer head gasket or try a mechanic who has done this before....
this time around take it easy on the car until AFTER you have broken in the engine and let the rings and bearings seat.
a wideband O2 sensor and ECU reprogramming is your friend.
BTW you can just as easily grenade an 11:1 CR engine if you don't break it in, tune it with a wideband, and run it up to 150 mph before the first 1000 miles....

I agree. Any motor builder worth a damn will be able to determine if
a)there are clearance issues with running a certain combination of piston, head, cam
b)be capable of calculating a static CR ratio
c)being able to select a proper spark plug to work with the combination
d)being able to advise you if your fuel system is adequate to handle additional compression and power
f)advising you on a reasonable technique for breaking in the motor
I have two friends running CTR pistons in an ITR block with no issues.

I have the following done on various cars:
1) b16a w/ CTR pistons, smaller chamber GSR head milled 25 thous .. using Type R camshafts
2) B18c1 w/CTR pistons, b16a head milled 15 thous with Toda spec B cams (12mm lift on high lobe)
3) B18a block with CTR pistons, Type R/B16a head with 0.5mm oversized valves on both int and exh and Toda spec C cams (12.5mm lift)
FYI, the CTR pistons weight approx 29-31grams more than an ITR piston, so rebalancing is required.
print and give to dealer and mechanic ...

you forgot to include:
g) build a throttle stop to keep monkeys from doing high speed runs during break in and before tuning.

that ls vtec has got to have some siiick compression, i heard peter yen is putting out ls vtec with ctr pistons and theyre puting down 200 . i bet it rips
