Wrong forum for this. Try appearance/cosmetic

Most people on here are more performance minded so go ahead and put your flame suit on......

I really can't speak from experience b/c this is not my thing, but what kind of "custom" look are you going for? You can usually mix and match pieces from different kits i.e. wings west front/rear, vis side skirts....if you're looking to go totally custom then your best bet is to find a body shop in your area that specializes in custom work. But get ready to spend big money!

go to lowes and buy some plywood. and do something like this...talk about attracting attention.

or if someone could find it there's a picture of an older accord that has a 100% custom bodykit on it that was made of plywood

but in all seriousness take pieces of other cars, a sawsall and a lot of bondo and hack away.

Unless you know what you are doing a custom bodykit is going to look like crap. You will be better off with oem style lips, but it is your car so do w/e "you" think looks good. Just be prepared for everyones honest opinion.

I know what you mean about there not being any good kits for sols. The front bumpers are normally hideous, or something like the Mugen that isn't nasty has been done so many times before that you look like everyone else that didn't want a stock bumper.
My advice, if you're willing to spend the time and money to do a custom one is to put that time and money into looking at the kits from europe. There is a pakpheiffer (sp?) kit that a guy on HAN was running for a long time that was gorgeous. I know there are a few others that I was interested in. I just couldn't justify spending $600 to get a bumper....

i think the WORST i have ever seen, was a supra, with a custom built body kit out of card board....no joke, it was a supra, altezzas, neons and a wing that was 5' high, thats FEET.

I tried making a lip on a spare bumper for fun, DID not work at all. wasted $40 in supplies.

Keep it stock, best decision you will ever make

That's why everyone has slipstreams, kuhmos, corner lights, and a short ram and fart can...
I didn't get my sol into the 12's, caged, and competative on a road course by listening to anyone in this forum. It was from a some good advice from a few people, and a ton of trial and error.
Learn from other people's mistakes, but don't jump on any bandwagons is what I think you're going after.

If you're determined to build your own bumper and have the spare cash to try it, go into it knowing that you might throw away the final product. It happens. If you're not ready for that, sit tight until you find one you like.
