I'm in the market for a new header for my car ('02 civic EX). i was browsing and came across the DC Sports 4-2-1 race header for '01-'05 civics. i was wondering if anyone had any experience with it.

and just for reference, this is NOT the shorty 4-1 header that most people on this site has.

i've been around the site for a while, so i know whats good and whats not. namely, i'm debating on the HP header, but having to modify my motor mounts discourages me from getting it.

The gains will be minimal, at best... plus noise and emissions non-compliance.

 

i bought the 4-1 header minly because it was smog legal. the 4-2-1 i was looking at replaced the cat. i like the 4-1 header. before i just had an intake and exhaust and after adding the header it really opened up the powerband.

yes it does elminate the cat
i have it along w/ an APEXi N1 cat back

so yes its pretty loud but crazy loud ...i like it

i LOVE IT up till 4000ish when it becomes a little bit high pitch but its not too bad ...

frees up the powerband a lil bit
besides that not really noticable gains

thanks for your input on the header. i guess i'll look around some more for the header that "fits me" best. i dont want anything thats crazy loud, but than again i know that will be the case when the cat and everything is removed. hopefully i'll match a race header with the RSR-EX Mag exhaust so things remain relatively quiet.

I only had them for about a year...they work really good and have a really nice high pitch racing sound...I'm selling them because I'm saving up for an engine swap and I don't need them anymore...there's a couple small dents but thats about it, I'm selling them as is, and I'll include the bolts needed..below are the recent pictures I just took:

will this header fit the EX with manual tranny without problems/modifications?

Yup! These headers will fit ur EX if its 2001-2005 and you'll have no problems or no need for modifications...it would actually be alot better too cuz my 2001 Civic EX is an Auto tranny lol..so you'll definitely notice the power difference compared to stock headers.

I love mine, but im selling mine because im about to be boosted. All I need to do is drop in the fully built spare block, with the turbo setup.

 

I'm selling mine because I'm saving up for an engine swap and the headers I'm selling won't work for the K20A engine...you can't IM me on this Honda-Tech thing cuz I haven't been a member for that long, so whenever you can try IM'ing me on AIM.
