there is a drain hole that lets you know when you have reached recommended capacity

Correct, i have changed my gear oil three times in 3 years and always have to buy 3 1litre bottles of oil and end up only using a drop from the third bottle and dumping the rest.

is for an overhaul.

2.2 is for an oil change

Lets make this a sticky! Here is the proof.

And he didn't specify. If you want to get technical. The little overflow tube on the top of the tranny will spit some oil out when you get going to level off the fluid.

I always put 2.75 in my tranny, and it never comes out of the over flow tube.

That is because your car is not 100% flat / level.

Just like namechanger/mr wah wah/crybaby said......it takes 2.2 for a change and 2.3 if it was freshly rebuilt and bone dry.

There really is no point in measuring 2.2 quarts of fluid, put the car on a level service and fill thru the fill hole until fluid starts coming out. I never recommend filling thru the speed sensor.
