I go to start my car and it will crank and stay running for a split second then it dies. I have to floor the pedal to get it to start. The rpm's jump and i let off then it runs like normal no problems. It started doing this off and on and now it's doing that every time i go to start it. My exaust pisses my neighbors off so i need to fix it asap. It's a d16a6 new fuel filter 6months on the spark plugs and wires.

Could it be bad gas? i tried using heet to take water out, no difference
Is the fuel pump going out? if i try to let it prime it still doesn't start
injectors dirty? i dont know what do you think??

 

Bump for you cause Im having the same problem with my DA...

..my guess is the IACV being dirty/sticky/cold.... but idk, haven't looked too much into it..

I want to say its fuel related. In order to test this out buy some starting fluid and spray in through the throttle body and then crank it over, if it starts then it means its not getting enough fuel.

Uhh, has there been aby resolve in this problem?? My friends car is doing this. What did you find out gen2????????????? Still havin problems, curious about what it was and how you fixed it.
