i'm new to engine building but i like to think that i have common sense. so i buy a used d15b vtec (p08 stamped on block head and intake so i know its the 130hp) for my stock 92 vx, but it has some pitting on the cylinder walls. it doesnt look to bad (probably stock pistons with .25 over rings or something, but like i said im a complete noob that likes to read and has only some common sense). so im in the process of tearing it apart to rebuild. what kind of rebuild kit do i use? from what i searched on honda-tech.com i should use the d15z1 kit for the block and z6 kit for the head (by kit i mean any seals, bearings, gaskets, etc) and i guess im just wanting to confirm that this is true.

along with this im looking for any extra tips and/or advice. i mean, its going to be apart, i'm not looking to make 350hp, but i do want to make some decent NA power (on little to no buget of course). what, if anything, should i consider (port and polish, balancing, cleaning, or anything else i should know as a noob)?? (i have a dremel and 3 years of jewelry experience ie. polishing and small metal fabrication)

i have a family friend mechanic who can guide me when i need help so im not going into this project completely blind. Thank you for your help in advance!!
