Default Cam Timing Problem

So im having a little timing issue with my car. I have a unknown crane cam in and i dont really know anything about this cam. I looked it up online and it says that theres like 4 different types of cams that they sell for sohcs. I have a d16y7 with a z6 head on it and my car isnt responding like it shude and im pretty shure that its because of the timing of the cam not being properly tuned how it shude be. How can i fix this problem? Take it to entek? tell em to tune it? that would also require a chipped ecu right? sumone helpp me outtt

yes. someone will socket and chip your ecu. if its obd1. and then have it dyno tuned to see what the story is. you can check some of the timing things yourself.

It is possible that it is a D16y8 cam and not a d16z6 cam in which case the timing is different (not sure how but I think it still works you just need an adjustable cam gear). Get the numbers for the cam and check on crane's site. I have no clue where to check for the numbers but crane maybe able to tell you a way.
