Ive been wanting to make the swtich to lexan in my EG hatch the 3 back windows. Is it a Must to Rivet them on or can you install them like normal windows.

This will be a street car with frequent trips to the drag strip. I would like to have the windows tinted but not sure if there is any downfall to have tint on lexan windows.

are the weight savings really worth it to install it on the car. Hoping to get the car down to around 2000lbs with me in it and full tank.

and finally where is the best place to buy the FAL window kit? i only found some on ebay and havent seen any HT sponsors selling them.

i got my FAL windows from summit racing. i belive it cost me around 700 or so for all 5 windows. my windows have stainless allen head bolts holding them in. ive seen a write up in a mag, back in the day, they used the street version of the FAL windows, and put them in with the black sealant stuff, then put the oem weather stripping back on.

i wouldnt recomend lexan on a street car, it scratches very easily.

 

this car will only be on the street on friday and saturdays if that. thats why i wanted to tint the windows.

 

yeah it scratches real easy, my lexan windshield has alot of scratches and a hell of a glare

when i was at battle of the imports i talked to a guy from password:jdm who had these on his car and he just installed them like you would oem glass look pritty clean too! if i find the pic i will post it!

 

i have a set for my hatch. i havent put them in yet but i found out that there over sized so they dont need the molding on them and they go on like oem windows. ive been told they save upto 50- 70 pounds if you have all 3 pices. hope this helps you.
