Default Maine State Inspection (battery relocation)

Just thought I would share this info here because I see more 92-95 civics with this than any other. In Maine it is illegal to relocate your battery. All you peps looking to purchase a EG with gutted interior and shaved engine bay, this may apply to you. I am from northern Maine and I realize that it is much easier to get a sticker up here than it is in central and southern Maine. This may not be a very big deal considering most inspection mechanics wouldn't think about this but Maine inspection is getting ridiculous and things are getting strict.

i think it depends on where u have it done. Theres garages that are more pickier than others.

You are totally correct, and I do understand that, I just thought I would throw it out there so Maine peps know. And again it def. depends on who is inspecting it. There is a dude where I live that just writes out inspection stickers, he doesnt even look at the car.

Other than clearance for an engine swap, why would you need to relocate the battery in an EG? It's on the firewall on the passenger side, pretty much as close to perfect as you can get as far as weight distribution goes.

I wish a had a quater for everytime I herd that. Guilford is about 3 hrs north of portland. Its in the real central Maine. And if you have any trouble getting a sticker this summer get ahold of me. I know a guy that will put a sticker on anything with 4 wheels.

Have you ever seen a shaved engine bay. If not I would go do some seaching. Its only about the sexiest thing in the automotvie world.

Or you just go to a garage where you know people and bring in some slurpee/subway and you pass with flying colors!

Are u serious, I hate Milo, its the biggest, poorest, nasty-est, town in the country. I think most of my pay check goes to support the welfare in Milo. Milo, Lagrange, Medford, Millinocett, those are the mosty scuzy as towns in Maine.
