Default Spoon Cluster Install, Need help ASAP!!!

Hey guys, could you please list the steps I need to take in order to install my Spoon cluster? I'm gonna do it with a friend within the hour, and really need to know how before we get started! Thanks!

It should just be plug and play.... take yours out and pop the new one in.

Shouldn't be much more than a few screws and a couple of plugs.

I thought it was simple plug and play, but some people tell me I need to take some stuff off the stock cluster and put it on the Spoon one.

gauge cluster install is super easy and takes 15 minutes max. However, B2FINITY said he had to swap the usdm clusters back piece(not sure the name) onto the spoon cluster.

There are two Spoon clusters, if I recall from a previous post on this topic.

For USDM ITRs ('97,'98 ,'00,'01), I believe you need <u>'98 spec</u> cluster.
For Integras produced between '94-'96, <u>'96 spec</u> cluster will bolt-on.
(but '96 won't bolt on to '97,'98','00','01 ITRs).

I think Mike knows the answers to this problem.

nothing would bolt onto 00'/01' ITRs without modification.

Easiest way is to swap the gauges into your USDM circuit board.

Naaa...Iasked this question a few weeks ago when I got mine.

Here are the steps:

1. Check to see what model you've got. 96 and 98 specs are different.
2. If you have a model that does not correspond to the year of the car, then you will need to do some minor surgery to your cluster.

Skip this part if the model is correct:

3.On the back of bothe stock and spoon cluster, there is a green thin electronic plastic film. You are going to swap those.
4. CAREFULLY remove the screws that hold the film in place. There are about 15 of them and some of them are different sizes so make sure you put them back in the same order.
5. Remove all of the light bulbs...again some are different so replace in the same order.
6. Swap the film...the spoon cluster may not have the SRS airbag light so this part of the film may not fit exactly, but it won't cause problems
7. Some of the idiot light are in different places, so you may need to open the plastic casing to swap these. The only one that I couls see that was different on mine was the seat belt light and door open light...otherwise I think everthing else was the same.

9. Remove the bottom panel (three screws) on your dash board and the two panels on the steering column (tree scews).
10. remove the screws on the bezel on the insturment panel...(there should be two)
11. I think there are two screws on the back side of the bezel (on the inside of the dash) that need to be removed as well...the are a bitch to get out so you need a short handled philips driver and some patience.
12. Slowly pull the bezel out. Its held in by one more clip, but it will give with constant and steady pressure.
13. Once you have the bezel out, it will expose the cluster. there are three screws that hold it in. unscrew the three screws (the two side screws and the one on the top are different so be careful)
14. The cluster can be removed now.
15 I think there are 2 or 3 wire clips on the back of the cluster, just pull them off carefully....you may need to use pliers to do it....swap it out....and do the reverse of above...all done ( the whole process does take about an hour...don't be fooled by those claiming 15 minutes...its easy but does take patience!!

Good luck

yes, i prefer the plastic film swap vs. the gauges swap.
paid so much for the cluster might as well use the entire cluster and gauges...
