Default Which is better chassis? EG or EK when modded?

Hey
I was wondering what is the better chassis for modding on. (like everything, motor, suspension, brakes, etc.)? What i mean is, what is the chassis that you will get the most out of after you put mods on it. this includes track use, drag, everything.

im only asking because i might build only one civic and i want to know which i can get the most out of. i currently own a 92 si hatch, but might get an ek if its better.

Well eg's are lighter. Other then that they are pretty much the same as far as what will swap between the two.

EK's look better to me when done correctly...

But can't beat the lightness and nimbleness of an EG.

This thread is ******* retarded.

Seriously, mod whatever you think looks cooler. There's just as many performance modifications for either chassis, and one chassis is not going to outshine another given equal modification.

We can argue all night about weight vs. wheel base .... but in the end, mod what you think looks better.

no man, the problem is i think both equally look really good when done up. i just want to know which i can get more out of, whether its the smallest detail or whatnot, just so i can decide on one chassis. no point dumping 3k into a suspension realizing it should have gone into the other chassis.

btw, my stock si is a pig and almost weighs as much as an ek stock, so in the end after weight reduction, both will be about the same, so i didnt list it as a factor in my decision

Like I said, either way, you're not going to regret it. It's not like you like you're going to run a road course and be like "dag, y0! I wish I had an EG instead of this stupid EK."

It comes down to aesthetic .

It's never going to make a lick of difference. Pick which one looks better to you.

Run though Ek and Eg threads in the app forum and each time you see one that reaches out at you, save it. In the end, see which Generation you have the most pictures of and vote. But don't let that electoral college thing expletive you up.

Its pretty stupid to see people in here saying a stock Si eg is a "pig" and weighs almost as much as an EK.... as if an EK is heavy. Do any of you actually know what a 96 DX EK weighs in at? Didn't think so. Try 2,222lbs stock. Now lets see what that 93 Si weighs in at... 2,326lbs according to the same source. Man, those EK's really ARE pigs aren't they?

Jesus people. Quit riding the hearsay bandwagon and do some research on your own. You might actually learn some factual information for once.

i'd say a 99-00 ek. i say that because of interior options. u can get the 99-00 ek with the 2din radio opening. that means u can flush mount a 2din tv in there. there's a small pocket in front of the shifter where u can install a vtec controller if u wanted. they sell cluster pod's. so basically.. interior will stay away from stupid people's ricey holes and ****. also the ek looks beefier. esp with rear disc brakes. but i'd get the ek just for the interior quality. and for the haters... i'm a pro installer so keeping my interior clean is my top priority.

agreed, i dunno how much eg's weigh, but my ek weighs 2250lbs with a b16b motor and gutted rear area, no washer fluid/n1 pulley/8lb flywheel/no tools/no spare/15" wheels/no AC or PS. ek is not that heavy, all that **** i removed just offset the weight i added during the swap, yes the b is actually heavier than the D.

CX hatchback: 2094lbs.
VX hatchback: 2094lbs.
DX hatchback: 2178lbs.
Si hatchback: 2326lbs.
Keep the EH3,no one here has an EG.EGs are jpaneseEH3 is the hatchback Si 92-95.They have a lower center of . 101.3inches wheelbase for EH3 and 103.2-inch wheelbase for the 6th gen hatches. But the 6th gen civics are so tall, keep your hatch

ive got an EK, one of the reasons why i got it was becuase of the interior, looks so much beter, 99-00 are the best IMO, but the outside bodystyle, im kicking myself in the ***** for, becuase i love the styling of the EG beter than the EK, i was a ricer somewhat when i got the EK, so the grill looked apealing to me, but its all up to you, what you like best, if i could go back id get an EG and put a DC2 interior into it, then I would LOVE IT!

Lots of people have EG's. There are plenty of EG's in America, just no EG6's.
