oil plug washers/aluminum crash washers

well first off.. anyone know the size?

and 2nd... anyone know where to get them in bulk?

 

are u talking about drain plug washers? if so you can get them at the dealership...they usually have packs of 50 but not sure how much thats gonna cost

passwordjdm sells them for $5.99...they say 5 packs..not sure if they mean 5 washers or 5 bags of washers

Last I checked, i bought a bag of 50 for $15 plus tax about a week ago.

That's terrible. Not saying it's 100% necessary, but it's there for a reason. I wish I still had the crush washer from my last oil change. It illustrates why you need to replace it. It was almost a dome shape.

at Honda they make you change the washer everytime you do an oil change...i have about 100+ used washers in my drain bucket

 

Yep. I haven't changed my own oil since moving into the new place (the garage floor must be kept immaculate, and I don't own it), but I've still got a dozen or two washers left over from when I did. I remember then going for way less than $.50/ea, somewhere between $.12 & $.20 each for the quantity I bought (50 or so).

JCracer723, if your local dealership is charging outrageous prices for crush washers, go to another dealership. There's at least three dealers on the web who sell OEM parts, at least one of them has to be able to ship some to you for a reasonable price.

 

i have like 50 of em haha when i used to work a t a stealership i got tired of running back and forth for filters and washers so i checked out 30 different oil filters and took a hand ful of washers haha

It doesn't matter if it's in tact or not. To seal properly, it's supposed to squish between the bolt head and the oil-pan. It's not gonna squish when you reinstall an old one...

PS: The size of the washer is 14mm and cost $.20 each at HondaPartsDeals.com (part#94109-14000).

 

at my dealership they usually hand us a box of 30 filters and a bag ot 50 washers...a few weeks ago i guess they were short on washers and accused us of stealing them and selling them so they stopped giving us 30 filter n 50 washers, instead they hand them out now so it wont go missing

no they were giving out too many to the lube tech and he had them in his drain bucket and when they ran out they blamed it on everyone

LOL! Thats pretty lame that your dealership did that to you. You would have to steal thousands to make any kind of money. Even then, how many washers do you think you could move in one sale. What a bunch of retards...

Evidently you can sell them to people in sixFifty_ek9's area for $.60/pop. Sell a few hundred washers and you could buy yourself a pack of bubblegum.

My car's 10 years old and has had God knows how many oil changes in that time, and still is on the OEM oilpan it shipped with from the factory. However in that time there's only been two locations that an oil change has been done: at home (performed by me), or at a dealership.

A lot of "problems" with Hondas can be traced back to someone who refuses to use torque wrenches, or sets them incorrectly, when tightening nuts & bolts. When you overtighten a bolt, you weaken it. In the case of the oil pan, repeatedly overtightening it causes the pan to strip. The problem isn't the pan. The problem is the dumbass who overtightened it time & time again until it failed.
