Default Highflow CAT vs Test Pipe...need some feed back

on a 2000 Civic EX Coupe...what would be better...a highflow CAT or a test pipe with an O2 sensor sim? not looking to get a universal CAT...and i will also be adding an Apex'I WS Exhaust with either the test pipe or CAT. looking for pros and cons

IMO, high flow cat. probably get the power you're looking for with it, as well as sound. i won't be as loud as half the ricers you hear in the street.

he wouldn't
and would probably have a hard time passing with most "high flow" cats.

if you do get one, you best read up on them.

sadly the increases are incremental with either, and in the end not worth the hassle... but you'll go ahead anyway..

well with an O2 simulator i should be able to get by inspection..but if not i have a few friends who are mechanics and do inspections...yea i dont want to sound like a tin can racer...want it to sound as good as it can which is also why im going with the Apex'I WS Pipe..i know that pipe has a nice deep sound, not annoying.

has anyone dealt with the Omni-Power test pipe that is on Password JDM.com??

heard cool things about it, but i would like to know what kind of gains it offers and what it sounds like.

and yea, i know that im not really going to be getting alot out of this motor unless i do serious engine work and a turbo kit, but that is a little bit down the road...right now im trying to get as much out of it as i can with bolt ons

appreciate the input

I just put a Invidia test pipe I my 00 EX. It was a NICE stanless piece, bolted up perfect and the welds were nice. It came with the Gasket from the cat to exhaust (you will have to pick up a donught and probably bolts for the front side).

It was a nice part and was cheap at Horsepower Freaks. But I lost low end torque like a mother. It makes power up top, but down low lost a bunch. Next time I'll go High Flow cat. This time I was just short on money and time so went with the test pipe.

just stick with the stock cat. you dont really need a high flow or test pipe unless you boost or do a serious na build.

high flow cat. some magazine did a comparison and a test pipe only gained 1hp over the high flow cat. so if 1hp is worth all the noise, smell, tickets then go for it.
