wrx scoop on integra?
did anyone out there put a wrx hood scoop on a integra? im thinking of doing one for my racecar but i wanted to get an idea of how dumb it will look. not that i care because i only want it to cool down the engine bay but im just curious to see what it will look like. any help would be nice.

for sure i agree the mugen looks alot better, and it seems like it would perform better, as for the wrx scoop, maybe a few years ago but in my eyes a scoop on a integra

fixed...and yes
WRX scoop is RIIIICE
then again that mugen one looks good but i dont think it will make a difference in temps

actually..vented hoods bring cooler air in..thats why people add washers

The purpose of the scoop on the wrx is for the top mount intercooler and that's it. If you want to keep you motor cooler there are a couple of things that you could do. you can get a vented hood that vents directly above the header, i.e. the mugen one. You can get a lower temp thermostat switch to kick the fans on at a lower temp. You can also convert your fans to pusher style rather than puller style. basically flip the fans to the front of the radiator. There's a thread on here where someone moved their intake right where the battery was and took various temp readings on having the hood vented with the washers and it showsed no significant difference so for the washer trick I really don't know but as for your scoop thing it won't work cause the hot air would stay trapped within the compartment.
Surpisingly, only two people have trolled up this thread with useless replies, I'm impressed.
If cooling the engine bay is your goal, why not start with various oil coolers first,
That being if you haven't already, and try to increase the flow through the front bumper as much as possible.

you know what. all the people with the rice comments are ******* silly. this isnt a car i drive on the street. its a 850whp integra built just for the track. under the hood gets rediculously hot from the tubular manifold i run. i wasnt concerned too much with how it looks. i wanted to try something out thats all. so you people that are looking to be cool and funny and call my racecar rice have fun because i couldnt honestly give a **** less. i simply made the post asking if anyone did one so i could see what it looked like and where they mounted it. i have seen it on a couple of eg's and it actually looked good. but my intention was to run the scoop with the vented tilt. but obviously hondatech is full of a bunch of gay bangwagons ill just figure this out on my own. get a life people/.
Yea seriously this is just a opening for a quick roast...but your motatives are good so i wont do it. Honestly if you are looking to cool this motor down, I agree with most guys in here in getting a vented cf hood and a oil cooler....but also consider getting a water methonal injection kit for you motor, helps cool it down and also allows you to advance you timing more. but thats just my 2 cents

for one, im sure u have a 850 whp race car just for the track. u prolly have some riced out piece, runnin in the 18 second range on the 1/4 mile. second, wrx scoop brings in air. with your "850 whp race car" u need to let hot air out not bring air in. and third. with your "850 whp race car" u would have too much air turbulance under the hood from all the speed from your "racecar" that u wouldnt even have air comin in through the scoop.

I've never seen it. But maybe you'll have some luck with someone good at photoshop in a/c; post the hood, and do a mock. Would be interesting to see the effects, like mentioned before; I personally feel a properly vented bumper combined with a proper hood (mugen, custom build etc). But I mean, if you can come up with something highly funtional, and get a more aggresive look, power to you. G/L
p.s def post something in a/c It'd be neat to see.

Amen.
The appropriate question is what are the rules that you must meet? The Mugen hood has the right idea. Another idea would be the muscle-car blower scoop with the opening in the rear of the scoop. With it open to the engine bay, it would draw the hot air up and out of the engine bay. It would also be a cheaper option.

i wasnt asking for anyones opinion on the matter, i simply asked what it looked like if you must know i wanted to make a ram air for my turbo however, i simply made the post to ask what a wrx hood looked like on a integra if anyone has done it. i have seen a couple on civics in the sport all motor class but never on a integra. so keep trying to make me look/feel stupid i honestly could care less.
for anyone that feels like helping me out, heres a pic of my car, shitty old pic but its all i have right now because the car is in peices.
