Default car wont stay on...

something happen today that was weird. after driving all day i parked the car for some lunch. after about an hour i started the car, it wouldnt stay on. the car is stock other then an intake. the intake has been on for a couple of weeks so far with no past problems. well after i got the car moving on the road, it would stay on. the engine would always start right up but then it would drop down past the normal idle. when i drove to my next destination it happend again. i just had to make sure i didnt let it idle down to far till i get the car moving on the street agian. so what is going on ?

its a 1991 honda civic ef with about 70k miles on it. all oem parts .

make sure your intake arm & filter are on tightly. i had one work it's way loose once and the car ran like ****, idle very low....

since that's the last thing you messed with it's a good place to start

checked that and its still there.

one of the hose that goes from the top corner of the engine that normally attaches to the intake arm is not attached and is free floating. i dont have a place to hook that up to. i was wondering if that is the cause.

ill bet it is your ignition switch. i just had the same thing happen to me. you can test the ignition switch for free, and then buy a new one if the test fails.

other things that can cause this are the main relay, although this time of year, the main relay probably isnt causing it, unless you live somewhere where it is more than 80 degrees most of the time.
