When installing new oil pan gaskets I always apply a very light coat of HONDABOND on each side of the gasket...then I use it for lube

nice to know lol. so it not really needed to have it all way around. i fed up bec i put a new oil pan gasket last week with rtv sealer on both side of the gasket and then install it. son of a bitch leaks ! prolly bec of the gasket not seated correctly with that rtv on both sides.

no you dont need any rtv. just put it on. and properly tighten the oil pan bolts. good to go.

Not true...I have used a thin coating on the 4 oil pan gaskets I have changed and have never had a leak. You could go either way, but using a bit of hondabond will not make "ur **** leak."

ya you dont need any rtv or hondabond really. just torque it right and if you do choose to put some sealant, do it very lightly.
