Default relocating deck in a 99-00 civic

How would you go about relocating your stereo deck to the lower part of your console instead of the top. I know on 96-98 civics, the deck just fits right into the little pocket, but the 99-00's are a lot bigger. Would I have to swap in the 96-98 cup holder and pocket?? or is there another way. I'm pretty sure I have seen it done without the 96-98 swap, so let me know

thanks.

is it possible to keep the 99-00 drink holder and only swap the 96-98 pocket?

I've always heard you have the swap the cupholder/pocket from the '96-'98. The pocket on the '96-'98 is removeable and then you can put a radio down there in it's place.

Pretty sure you need the cupholder/pocket piece and the surrounding piece.

If I wasn't convinced I'd need it one day, I'd sell you mine.
