quick confirmation on head for LS whether its the good one or not.
I've got a b18a1 from a 91 LS in my EG right now.
we JUST got in a wrecked 90-93 LS automatic yesterday.
It's build date is 10/91 and when I got the hood pryed open, It has gray plugs for the wiring harness.
I'm assuming this is an early 1992 obd1 b18a1 engine based on the plug color and build date.
my question is whether this has the head with the larger cams/valves in it as opposed to my 91 b18??
I would "assume" it does with it being obd1 but with such an early build date it makes me wonder if it's not using one of the leftover earlier heads....
is there any identifying marks on the 92-93 heads that can separate it from a 90-91 head??
oh and correct me if I'm wrong but I think the HP levels on the LS engines are:
90-91 = 130hp
92-93 = 140hp
94+ = 142hp

there's four dots imprinted on the head above of the exhaust mani. one of them has the year of the head.
i think the cams specs are all the same between the years, it's the ports that are different. one way to tell is to look up the part numbers for the cams shafts and compare them. but im to lazy to do that
