easiest way to get alternator out of b16a1 crx?
I like to drop it from the bottom. You take the bottom bracket out that bolts onto the block aand it should slip down somewhere through there.
On second thought...just pull your motor, it'll be fun.

There should be plenty of room if u remove the master cylinder but I find that unnecesary.

Some people do have halfshafts and all that and that might effect it, but I'm pretty sure you can get away with unbolting the bottom alternator mount, and weaseling it around the axle and wheel well

yeah im definatly oging to have to take out the driver side axel there is no way the alternator is dropping out =\ ugh... this is for a b16a1 btw there is alot less room to work with for those who are thinking its stock engine.
well i just got it out for reference i took off the driver side axle and instead of taking out the intermediate or half shaft that goes into the transmission i just took off the alternator bracket same amomunt of bolts as the half shaft but last time i took off my half shaft it was a bitch to get back in so i really didnt want to and i still wasnt sure if the alternator could drop if you take if off it would be close but i dont know the bracket was very wide and it could clearly drop if you take the bracket off. thanks for the input guys
dont waste your time with the driveaxle ****. just remove the master cylinder nuts and gently pull out and move the master cylinder 2 inches over. then you can slide the alternator out of the top with no problems. I'm not bs'ing I work on these cars all day on flatrate and it only takes 5 minutes to do it this way.

just for reference if you have the DA master and booster this still wont work not enough room
