obd1 ZC conversion with distro. king distro.
Hey all,
i decided just to do the obd0-obd1 conversion on my ZC.
THe engine harness is a obd0 engine harness so originally the distro. plugs on harness side were two square.
Problem we have here is on the old obd0 distro it has
obd0 distro.

obd1 distributor king distro.
yellow/green

we are taking the obd0 plug off the obd0 distro and putting it in place on the new obd1 distro so it plugs rite inm problem is,can't find wiring diagrams to find out which wire goes to what spot from the obd1 into obd0 distro plug sense they don't match becuase the obd1 distro is obd1.
Any incite appreciated..

it has 2 extra wires because on obd-1 distributors they have the crank angle sensor built in to the dizzy. on the dohc zcs the crank angle sensor is on the exhuast cam right in front of the dizzy. and i dont think you could do the obd-1 conversion on a obd-0 motor. but if you can find a obd01 dizzy it might just work with some ghetto rigging.
we are using a obd1 distributor. from distributor king. and yes you can on an obd0 motor, people do it all the time. you jsut have to repin the ditro plug or repin the engine harness plug for distro
wat is the new dizzy's stampin number?? is this for a sohc or dohc motor? i can make u an adapter plug to go from obd0 to obd1 for 35 shipped if ur interested. LMK based on the number of wires it looks like u were in DPFI, those only had 6 wires if i rememeber correctly and u need to be in MPFI cuz those have 7 wires for the dizzy.
I wouldn't rely on wire colors to determine what pin goes where, Dist King uses their own color coding for the distributor wiring- I ordered a replacement 88-89 Integ unit and found this out.
yes you can still get them on ebay. this is for DOHC zc, obd0 motor with obd0 ZC engine harness and putting on a obd1 dohc zc TD43U ditributor. And your rite, the wire colors ARE different on the distro king unit. THats what im having trouble with.

so on the harness side of the big plug its 5 wire, on the distro. side its 7 wire. THe two extra wires are for the Cam angle sensor which is internal on the obd1 distributor.
Problem is, on dohc zc's it allready has a CAS on the end of the exhaust cam, so will those two wires not be used? It still doesn't solve the problem of the wires being different colors on the distro. king distributor

first - don't take connector off distributor - get an OBD1 distributor connector from another OBD1 engine harness to swap onto your OBD0 engine harness - next, match the wires, color for color on both sides of the connector - beige (orange) to beige (orange), beige/blue to beige/blue, white/blue to white/blue, thin white (crank sensor) to white, thick white (igniter - see picture below to identify the igniter wire location on the OBD0 connector) to yellow/green - blue/green from the Cylinder sensor (on exhaust cam) to blue, blue/yellow from Cylinder sensor to blue/yellow

are you sure its not blue green to blue green? on the obd1 is no wire that is just blue. i did every thing else and it all worked out fine...was it just a typo and goes blue/green to blue/green?
