Whats a SIGN of HID bulb going bad??? help!
my girlfriend has a 6000k HID kit on her car...some off the wall chinese or japanese brand.. they have lasted for about 1.5 years, one of them, the left has gone from a bright blueish/white to a purpleish color, its not really dim, it more or less just looks like a 8000k bulb or something, sometimes it looks like its flickering a little bitter, it turns on the same as the other bulb but when they start to fade and the right one holds at a bright white the other one fades to a purpleish color...
is it just the bulb that needs to be replaced or is it the ballast? I could troubleshoot but its 10 degree's outside and I was looking for a quick answer maybe someone has already encountered
thanks.

one of them is now purple the other is still whiteish blue that is somewhat annoying... do you think its just the bulbs?

That's right. I had the same problem with my TSX projector retrofit. I bought some supposed new Philips bulbs on Ebay, and one was more blue than the other. I thought there was something wrong with the projector, so I switched the bulbs from one projector to the other and the problem was still there. I replaced both bulbs and now they are perfect.
The only solution is to get new bulbs.
