my expereinces at 30k service
allright i went to the honda dealer to get my 30k service. when i get my car back, on the way home, the car pulls to the right! previously it tracked straight as a whistle. then as i get into my local streets, THE ENGINE SHAKES AND STALLS THREE TIMES!!!! the check engine light FLASHES! ive never seen it do that before. when i get home i pop the hood and find that one of the ignition wires is not attached to the distributor cap.
i call em up and they say the typical sorry and come back tommoro for a free fix up. and later when i'm lookin at the bill they say they charged me 20 bux for a new air filter. and my original AEM filter is still on the car. it has not even been cleaned.
is this normal service? not that great imo.
it was Scott Robinson Honda in TOrrance, Ca
wat do u guys think i should do or say?

Bring up these issues with them. Customer feedback is very important for these guys' business. If they don't come clean and refund some money or at least give you some free parts file a complaint. That will get their attention real fast.
haha, free parts? how would i go about asking that?! i do plan on taking some sort of action tho. i juss remembered they didnt gimme the free movie tickets the were offering!!
Sounds like a load of **** and i'd bitch them out. Some honda dealers just suck while others shine. LOL there is no way they replaced your air filter, most honda dealers would bitch that you even had a non OEM intake and filter. Like was mentioned complain and maybe you will come out on top.
I've been the victim of some bad service, but I never took any action and I regret it.
When my camber kits were installed I think the mechanic dislodged my exhaust piping from a hanger. My pipe was less than 1/2 inch off the ground, if I had hit a bump or a pothole at highway speeds that would have torn the thing clear off.
When I had my shocks installed and car subsequently realigned, somebody forgot to tighten the front right camber kit properly. This caused the control arm to slide back and forth whenever I would go from reverse to forward from a stop. It sounded horrible and I thought my transmission was going bad.
Anyways, I was joking about the free parts, but lean on them hard, they'll give you something. I mean, this is a dealer, you'd think they'd know their stuff and not mess up on something as important as a 30K maintenance.

Yeah I hate Scott Robinson......what I suggesst is demading to speak with the TOP guy! The owner! Tell him your bad experience and stress the fact that you will never be back. The stake through the heart for any owner is when you tell them how will tell everyone you know of your bad experience also! Maybe next time they won't walk all over people. But maybe look at this opportunity to buy a Helm's manual and due the tune-up yourself..Once you see how easy it is, you will never go to a dealer again. Also don't just blow this off make it a point to raise hell with the owner as soon as you can! ...Good luck

well, i came in today without an appointment and they brang out like three of their mechanics to look up the code. they seemed pretty nice. said honda ignition wires are better than aftermarket wires. the code turned out to be a misfire. they fixed it in 10 minutes and gave me a promise for a free oil change. i guess i'm satisfied.
i didnt want to do the 30k service on my own cuz the valve adjust kinda intimidates me
other than that i dont plan on goin to them for awhile.
they gave me movie tickets but no costumer satisfaction survey. smart guys.

If you really want to mess up their operation , from them giving you bad service and not making up for it . Complain to Honda HQ , Honda as a motor company doesn't like hearing about their customers being mistreated . Those surveys that are sent out means big for the dealerships . The higher a dealership scores the more Perks they are allowed . I used to work for a high end dealership , and if a survey came in that was bad and there was reason and proof that the customer was mistreated , there was hell to pay litterally .
when I went to purchase my civic in 2000 I went to a dealership who promised me one thing on the phone then changed it and didnt say a word about it. when I called them on it they said that they never told me that over the phone and that I must have been mistaken. I tore up the paper work and walked out, the next day I bought my car from another dealer and have been very satisified. About a week later I get pissed off about something and decide to take my anger out by writing a letter to Honda of America, I made it as professional as possible and basically just told them about my experience, I found out a little later that for unknown reasons the sales manager was fired from that dealership. Now Im not saying that I am the cause of that but hey I may have helped and that is enough for me. I also used to work at a dealership so I know of the many ways that they screw over their customers. Car dealerships for the most part are in it for one reason to make their money. Customer satisfaction is rarely job one.
Ya I dont go to Honda any more . When I bought my car (from Norm Reeves in Ceritos) there was a bolt left down near the radiator fan that evently bounced off the radiator enough times to puncture it wich caused my coolant to spray all over the engine and made it over heat . So I took it to Honda (Honda world in westminster) and they fixed it (my car was a week old and they kept it for 5 days and the gave me a base model malibu till it was done
). Then I took it to Norm Reeves in huntington beach for 15000 mile tune up and after a while the check engine light came on so I went right back . After they finally fixed it they wouldnt tell me what CEL it was thowing or what the tech had done. When I got home I popped my hood and I guess when they did the valve adj. they forgot to hook the ground back up . Now I take it to shops that will let me watch at least some of the work they do or I do it myself.
most Honda techs = wasted money and time (unless you drive a stocker)IMO. If you like paying alot for tune-ups go to signal auto or jackson racing or other high end shops that work on modded cars. That way when they see an AEM intake they will know you wont need a filter
