I need a swap for Integra
I'm new to this site and to hondas, I have always been building dsm but i sold all of them and got my self a 1998 integra gsr but with no engine and tranny. I wanted to know what engine would be the best for it not spending a lot of money and so i can turbo it too. I had been reading a little and it sound like ls engine are cheap and good for boost, just wanted to get some opinions about this from people who been doing this for a while.
Thanks
Thanks

you can go to http://www.passwordjdm.com they have some good deals on ls and b20 motors which is the same as a ls but with a bigger bore 84.5mm vs the ls 81mm bore. and its a 2.0l vs 1.8l both are good for more boost. the b20 would need to be sleeved for bigger boost though as the cylinder walls are thinner

I personally have never bought a motor from them but I have read nothing but good things from people who have

my B16 Cable trans was $300
my B18A1 block was $200
my B18C1 Head was $500
obviously there's a lot more going into it, but lsvtec is the way to go IMO in your situation starting w/ just a shell
high revving w/ low comp + boost = teh sexxxorz
though you could just use a LS trans b/c the B16 trans is a little short for boosted cars IMO.

all b series tranny's are interchangable, but the shorter the gearing the better the acceleration, N/A or turbo.
b20z=500
b16 tranny=600
turbo kit=1200-1800

no for boost you will want a ls tranny for the tall gears. shorter gears are best suited for n/a.

I'd pick up a B20 and boost that living crap out of that
Although, my friends '98 GSR with bolt ons and a t3 turbo made 220whp and 230 wtq at 10 PSI. Tuned on Crome
Woo for turbo

ah this argument comes up too much on this site, that's why i said I like the LS tranny for boost, that's just my opinion....i'm not going to tell anyone it's "better" than a B16 or GSR trans....let's just not start this again please.
