Hey, whats up guys. I just recently picked up a 1990 Integra GS. Anyway, the ABS light comes on after about 10 seconds of driving. My E-brake light is on too, but the Ebrake is down all the way. I haven't checked the code yet but i know it has to do something with the E-brake being "on".
So my question is, how do i go about "fixing" or making my ebrake release completely? any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks
P.S - I forgot to mention, it also leaks brake fluid. I haven't sourced the leak yet tho.

maybe a seized caliper in rear? maybe it's not letting your ebrake release all the way. idk if that would throw the abs light or not.
aahh lancaster, i'm pratically in your backyard......

yea, how do i go about checking a seized brake anyway? is there a certain way to check? where are you at in PA?

just jack up the rear of the car, and spin the wheels. make sure your ebrake handle is down as far as it can be. if a caliper is seized the wheel will be really hard to spin. note that a little friction is normal. if your leaking brake fluid, it might be low enough to set off the abs light as well. i myself don't have abs on my DA, but i think the abs module does moniter fluid level. fix that leak asap......don't mess with brakes man.
i said your backyard, i wasn't kidding....
millersville/lancaster area.

if the abs light comes on that quick it's probably because you have a non abs axle in there. the abs axles have a "ring" on them that the non abs dont have. if ya have time take them out and take to auto parts store and ask them to check for ya. if i find a pic of them i will post for ya. as far as the e brake light try and adjust cables after jacking car up and checking for friction. leaking fluid find source and stop it. don't f around when safety is involved.

Yea, the lady I bought it from did say she replaced the axles recently, so she probably got the wrong ones put in. And how do i go about adjusting the cables? Is that when i have to take the center console off and tighten/loosen that nut?

you're brake light is probably on because of the leak. because when i was low on fluid this one day it came on. the brake light doesn't just say that your e brake is up, if it's on, and your e brake is down, it's probably saying there's something wrong with your brake system
my abs light comes on too, it actually doesn't work. but it only comes on after i drive for a few minutes, and then it'll come on and stay on. could it be the axle? i've never thought of that.

Yea, my brake fluid is low, that would explian the "brake" light being on. I need to refill it and find the leak when i get back from college.
So without the ABS axle, I'm guessing the ABS won't work at all?

you can't do jack with your car when you're in college! believe me, i'm soo tired i haven't rev'd pass 3 in a long time.
with the abs axle, i'm just as clueless as you are.

Ok, I do remember right before I left that I had to roll the car on my driveway (because I didn't feel like starting it). So I'm pretty sure the brakes are not seized anywhere(it rolled smoothly).
So now everything seems to be leaning towards the brake master cylinder. They are about $40 reman. at my local store (with core charge). Does anyone know if my brake booster is shot too, or if there are any ways to check it? BTW, my brake pedal has normal travel and does not seem affected by the leak whatsoever...
