Engine Mount - Mugen or Hasport?
I will be getting a set of engine mount soon.
1) I am wondering which one is better, Mugen or Hasport?
2) why is one better then the other?
3) I know u can choose the harness on the Hasports ones (62A, 70A,80A),but how hard are the mugen's?
4) I did some reading before, and see that if i install Hasport engine mount, i can lose the tranny mount (the mount under the intake area). Is this correct? can anybody confirm?
thx in advance.

1) Matter of preference.
2) See above
3) Softer then then the softest Hasport (62A). They are OEM mounts, same deisng and everything with slightly harder rubber.
4) No... You have to use the transmission mount. You can however, not use the two lower torque mounts. However I'd only recommend you not using the torque mounts only if you have the 70A or 80A stiffness.
I'd personally use the Hasports. I don't find Mugen that appealing with being an OEM design and just being slightly stiffer for a lot more money. Look into the Innovateive Mounts too, they have very similar designs to Hasport but a lot cheaper.

The one in red circle is the lower torque mount right?</TD></TR></TABLE>
Yep, thats the torque mount.

As far as the Innovatives go (that Neo) mentioned, you will need to purchase two longer bolts on your own to replace your stock ones. Where as the Hasports come with longer bolts.
Also, you can try pm'ing Baby NSX, and i think White Rocket about their comments on the Mugen motor mounts.

what is the point of stiffer motor mounts?
to reduce wheel-hop, provide better throttle response?
my mugen mounts do all of that without all the rattling and vibrating...
but if you were a woman, i can see where it would be more advantageous
btw, the mugen mounts are not that much more expensive than a set of new OEM of HASPORTS

my friend is using the softest Hasport mounts in his CRX and they are crazy stiff. during idle all the mirrors vibrate enough to make you weezy

i have ES insert on my car right now, and my mirror vibrate during idle too.

i mean it vibrates ALOT.
I also have the ES inserts and my motor does not vibrate as bad as the CRX with the Hasports.
I'm not bashing the Hasports, I'd run them if I had the money but they're really stiff for your average person

I had 80a when i did my swap they were pretty stiff but the vibration really isnt that much a problem when i idle and sit there it shakes but when im driving its fine. Im thinking about getting replacement 80A mounts for when i do the rebuild.

I was wondering the same thing a few days ago and am glad to see someone actually ask this question (with people responding).

Ive used 88a race hasports in my civic, the vibration wasnt bad at all to me...im assuming motor setup has something to do with it as well. If i get mounts for the itr, they will be mid-stiffness Hasports. My friend got a set of innovatives, they sent him the wrong color as well as fitting like ****.
