Default Window motor/regulators on a 94

Both front window motors on my accord are dying, they take at least 20 seconds to roll up, so I bought new motors and regulators to replace the stock ones. Was just wondering if anyone knows if you can get the whole motor/regulator unit in and out of the door frame without disassembling it? Thanks.

I think the whole unit is together. Which it is. Don't worry, you'll have lots of room to work with. You'll see

also, that might not be the solution. If you read a lot of posts, silicone spray is often the solution. Maybe a few other things here and there but a lot of the times, its not the motor dieing..

tried lubing the tracks, no success. 95% it's the motors, took off the door panel and worked the power windows up and down, the motor got really hot, shorted a few times (presumably from overheating) and had to wait a few seconds for them to reset.

ouch, ok. Wasn't sure how familiar you were with the problem. Despite yours being worse, a lot of people simply have just an issue with the rails etc. Luckily, i think that's just the case for my windows.

I had to replace the drivers side on my accord. It comes as one unit and is really easy to replace.

so as an update for everyone
I replaced the drivers side window motor, and the problem was no better. It turns out that the window control switch needed replacing, as well as about a half can of spray grease to lube the tracks really well. Just used grease on the passenger side and the old motor worked fine.

There is some grease called "Shin Itzu" (I think that's the name) that is sold by the Honda dealers for the run channels. The channels may need a good cleaning before applying the grease. A box of Q-tips, and some alcohol should do it.

well, congrats, I'm glad it's dealt with and I hope you spent a minimal amount of money. I've been to lazy get the lube for my car.. lol, along with fixing a broken seatbelt in the back, which I think is a free repair, woops.

Yeah, I even put some sweet tweeters in the door panels while I had them apart.

yeah, give it a try. pop off the door panel and clean the rubber tracks with qtips. then spray some grease in there and run your finger up and down the track to get it worked in good. if all else fails, I have an extra motors and window switch that I'll give you for super cheap.

I'm glad to read all this usefull info on this topic! I was just about to drop $147 on a new window motor for the driver's door...

My driver's door window goes up really really slow and then stops about 98% of the way up, so it is just open a slight crack (unfortunately just enough to let air and water in). So, do you guys think I need a whole new motor or just grease the rails?????

You should at least try it, it'll take an hour tops to do both doors. Be sure and clean the tracks before you grease them. And don't drop $147 on a window motor, you can get them shipped off ebay for under 60. Is the window up on one side and cracked on the other or just cracked all the way evenly? I know when I changed out the regulator the window would crank up all the way on one side and be slightly open on the other. I just had to loosen the regulator bolts, power the window all the way up, and then re-tighten the bolts when the window was completely closed and sealed up. Lemme know if you run into any problems and I'll try to help ya out.

Yeah, it's cracked all the way across evenly. It feels as if the motor just does not have enough power to get it all the way up. Usually I have to pull it up manually while someone holds the switch up to get it all the way up. It should also be noted, that this is much more of a problem on cold days (below 60 degrees F).

Regardless, I'll try greasing the rails when it stops raining out (lol, I live in the Pacific Northwest)
