Default d16 head on zc ?

I've already searched;

But was just wondering if anybody did a d16 head onto the ZC? And was wondering if that would be good for Boost reasons????

the other way around is possible they have a thread about it on thezcr.com supposedley it lowers comppression down to the 8s some where allowing you to run high boost applications. check it out he has an extensive thread and build

Are we talking about Vtec heads or non Vtec heads? The D16A6[SI] on the ZC block is no difference aside from the cam. The heads share the same casting and motion assemblies. The difference would be the ZC has a slightly more aggressive cam. It has an increased lift duration if I'm not mistaken.

http://effinmotorworks.com/SOH...s.htm

SOHCZC Cam
Intake Side
Lift starts @ 185
Lift ends @ 350
Peak lift @ 265
Actual lift @ 227.5

SOHC Si Cam
Identical for Intake side

SohcZC Cam
Exhaust side
Lift starts @ 75
Lift ends @ 240
Peak lift @ 150
Acutal lift @ 197

SOHC Si Cam
Exhaust side
Lift Starts @ 65
Lift ends @ 235
Peak lift @ 235
Actual lift @ 194.5

So the differences are in the exhaust side alone. But the slight differences are enough to provide the engine with a slight[VERY SLIGHT] increase. If you can find 1 for very cheap, and depending on how old[read:worn] your a6 cam is; you will notice a difference in the ZC cam. But nothing to write home about. If anything look into an Exospeed cam or a Delta. Both offer very good all motor cams for the SOHC Non Vtec engines that will retain a stock idle and still make better power. - SA

Ninja edit: As far as boost, look into an aftermaket cam. They're rather inexpensive and you definitely notice a power increase once boosted. Forced induction motors ie supercharged/turbo/nitrous have specific overlap and duration differences which help the engine breath to maximize flow efficiency. HTH

Yeah, sorry;

alittle more info:

I have a SOHC ZC, and my friend is giving me his d16a6 head or I can pick up a z6 head for $70...

I mean, I know the d16a6 is basicly simular to the zc, but I was just wondering if it would be better to swap heads and put boost or just keep the zc head and boost that.

thanks for all of your guy's input
