The motor from an 88-89 (Black Top) will drop right in. No issues at all. Maybe some plugs but thats it.

No it won't

The 86-89 Integra motor will fit the 84-87 Civic/CRX but NOT the 88-91.

If you read the entire post, you will see that I had said that 88-89(Black top) will fit. 86-87(Brown Top) has a different driver side mount

Since when does that bastard motor bolt in?

Also, if your car is newer than the motor the swap is illegal in any inspection requiring states.

it fits if you have the first gen crx, but you want the 86-87 motor because it has the vacuum advance dizzy and will bolt on(as long as you have the si model), the newer 88-89 motors dont have that and will require a lot of wiring.

Not true.

This motor will not bolt right into the EF CRX.

I had d16a1 and swapped back to a6 it bolts right in...and reversible..so yes it will the only difference is the cylinder sensor is on the exhaust cam compared to the a6 where its in the dizzy...but if you do integra ecu it will fit perfectly. <TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by Sikocivic &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">No it won't

I thought this was for DOHC ZCs..... I've always heard that there was some modification needed to fit the D16A1. But then, I've never done it myself so I'm not exactly sure.

Are we talking USDM Integra motors here or what?? All that I've ever heard is that the D16A1 Integra motor has different mounts than the DOHC ZC and will NOT fit in a 2nd gen CRX, and that they will fit into a 1st gen CRX.

It seems like we have to go through this every few months. Do a search, it won't bolt in. Can you make it fit? Yes, but with enough work you can make anything fit.

This thread is kind of dumb as nobody knows what motor this guy is talking about!

If its a usdm dohc d16a1, it will "not" bolt into an EF, and imho would not be would swapping. This engine is a bolt in process for the 84-87 civic/crx's.

The jdm dohc zc blacktop fits as everybody knows. You can reuse all of your old stuff, but need a 88 prelude timing belt for that engine before install
