Default Thinking of getting an Integra..few Questions..!

I am thinking of selling my 95 accord to get an integra, I want someting a little smaller, and a coupe (4dr sucks).

I have a few questiosn though..

What is a good/best year for them?

How quick is the GSR?

Any suggestiosn for buying one?

How reliable are they? I found one with 100k miles, will it last a while?

it depends what you want to do...IMO the '98-01 tegs look the best BUT if you want to boost a '94-95 has OBD1 so you wont have to convert...a teg with 100k miles isnt bad at all...i got mine at 124k and no problems yet...just make sure the seller hasnt beaten the crap out of it...if you have the money i think you should go for the gsr...but both LS and gsr have potential soo what kinda plans do you have for it???

I like the 98-01 style better, but having an OBD1 WILL save you that conversion (which isn't too much).
A GS-R is a mid to low 15 sec. car depending on the driver. An LS is a low 16 sec. car.
Just check out the car just like any other car. Check the timing belt, fluids, compression, and feel the tranny and power of the car while driving. Compare it to other GS-Rs so you know what a good conditioned one will be like.

Yeah, I really want somethig 99-01, I like newer cars. I dont plan on boosting it, probably a CAI/Headers/Exhuase at most. I am just looking for something quicker than my little accord automatic, and is pretty good on gas.

What do they get on average for MPG?

Are LS good too then? The GSR is V-Tec though right?

24-28mpg city
30-35mpg highway

my mileage is probably a little skewed...my GSR is boosted so that probably throws things off a little, but i cant imagine its that far off...

94-97 are the best tegs. put the foglights and si-vtec lip on that **** and coo. get the gsr trim if you can . the LS is good also and has lots of potential

^^now i would have to disagree because i think the 94-97 front ends are ugly...98-01 are much better, but again, that's just MY opinion....its all in the eye of the beholder

I like the 01 front end over the older ones. I want something newer, I just found a completly stock with 50k miles for like 8k. I just gotta sell my accord first.

i think everything about the '98-01 tegs looks are better than the '94-97...get one and slam it with some polished gsr blades and itll be hawt as hell

I plan on dropping it alittle, I dont like the "slammed" look, its kinda goody, I like a drop where there is about a 1/2-3/4inch gap between the tire and fender. What would be some good springs for that?

Also, What is the best CAI? Where can i get them? Any good online stores?

H&R springs with koni yellow struts is a nice combo...no matter which CAI you get there wont be a huge difference between any so if i were you i wouldnt spend a lot of money on one

I'm actually getting better than stock mileage now that I'm boosted, but that's only if I stay out of boost...which doesn't happen much! What EM are you using? Oh yeah, I agree the 98+ front end is my fav.

There's nothing wrong with the ebay CAI's, it's just the filter that sucks.
And insurance would also be cheaper on the LS.

Also if all you're going to do is put an intake/exhaust on it,
you're only wasting your money for the gains of 3-8hp at the most.

But is sounds faster

I agree. If you wanna make it fast...get a plan BEFORE you do anything. Don't just start spending money without a plan.

And you can also Tell when they're trying to be fast,
then it takes them a few seconds to start moving, lol.

Seriously, I would say get the GSR if you can. More fun... The b18b is a good platform, but I like my b18c.

90-93 Ls ftw
but im only saying that cuz i dont like the look of dc`s and vtec is great but over hyped

the ls is a strong and DURABLE engine. and i mean durable its third gear is great for turbo and you can always go lsvtec later if you absolutely have to have vtec.

my coworker is working into the mid 200,000 mile mark on his and it runs great

seeing the phrase "MAD VTECH YO" makes me feel stupid just reading it

I have a stock gsr and I love it. Def. go with that, unless you have plans for boost(which you said you didnt). Vtec is good.

let us know what you end up with

It took a lot of effort for me to write it and it still made me cringe.

No problems boosting a GSR as long as you use proper engine management, as with ANY boosted setup.

I went from a 2000 Accord to a 98 GS-R and it was a difference between night and day. It was actually "fun" to drive again.
