Muffler questions
I need to replace the muffler on my 97 integra LS and need some advice.
I've seen many high performance mufflers for around $400+. I really don't need high performance with the stock engine, but I would like something that is a little less quiet than the OEM replacement. I would like to hear it but don't want to draw too much attention. NAPA sells a DNX for around $250, and I've seen an ANSA that looks like the DNX for about the same price.
Any suggestions?
Thanks for all replies.

It depends of which one you get.
I would look into the model number: 12216, 5x8x14 oval muffler. Im not sure what other sizes piping diameter they come in, but they do have it in a 2.5 inch. This is an offset/offset design, which has a good tone to it, IMO. And SMSP uses these mufflers on his exhausts.

It just depends on how much noise you are willing to endure and/or how much performance you want to gain or lose.
Straight through design like Greddy Evo, Apexi N1, Vibrant, and others have bhe best flow but are the loudest.
Twin loops, like Mugen, OBX, JDM carboy, are a compromise between the two. Nice flow and quieter then straight through.
Chambered mufflers like OEM, Apexi World Sport, RSR Ex-mag, are the quietest due to design but they are much more restrictive then Twin loop not to mention Straight through.
I had an Greddy Evo before and it was way too loud for me. I switched to a OBX twin loop recently and I love it. Still much louder than OEM but suits me well. I would imagine a chambered design would be quieter.
Up to you as to what you want or can tolerate.
P.S. if you want straight though, I have my old Greddy Evo muffler for sale for a low price. You will have to get a muffler shop to weld it in though.

Cheapest = custom rear section with magnaflow or Es tuning muffler.
Or if you are willing to spend more money get apex-i word sport
(well worth it! IMO)
While you are at it to make it real throaty sounding put a high flow cat.
High flo cat and exhaust will make the stock LS perform noticably better too!
