Default suspension noise

I've noticed over some bumps in the road a clunking type sound from the front and or rear suspension. Kinda sounds like when your shocks are bottoming out. I swear someone on here posted about this before but i cant find the post.......or maybe im crazy

most new honda civics in general, Si or not have faulty struts from the factory. or atleast my dealership does. its bad manufacturing by the company. ive seen 9 miles with leaking struts. some with noisy ones. i got a knocking sound on my l/f strut. if you really want it fixed. go back to honda. road test with their techs until you hear the noise. if it's still under warranty.. you know the rest

I spoke to a Koni rep last week and he informed me that it would be around 6 months before anything came out for the 2006 Si.

I was inquiring about Koni Yellows for a possible Ground Control/Koni set up, but I do not think I will wait that long and might end up going with a full coilover.

I have the same problem too. The knocking sound just come from my driver side front wheel go over the bumps. I try to open the window to hear it, but I can't hear anything from the exterior. So do you think this still the suspension problem?

It definately sounds like a leaky struts, the fronts are ok but the backs are horrible. I will take it to Honda and try to con them into giving me the HFP suspension...lol

So you think it will be the rear suspension problem or the front. Because the noise is come out when the front wheel go over the bumps. At the beginning, I'm think maybe something is loosen. But I search from the forum, looks like I have the same problem of the suspension.

They won't. They'll just order new ones from the factory and put them on.

wonder if you could convince them in a discounted upgrade? considering they will have to replace the parts anyways, what if you payed the diffrence? it might work...

I definantly wouldnt say that "most" new Civics have bad struts from the factory. Think about how many are actually sold compared to the amount that come back. Granted, a lot of them do have bad struts but I wouldnt say most.

If you purchased aftermarket struts they may put them in but theres absolutley no way they're going to cover parts or labor under warranty unless its OEM ****.

I have the same issue. Took it to Honda today and they told me that it wasn't my suspension but my rear windshield isn't sealed proper. Having there glass guy coming in to fix it tomorrow.

Also getting my driver side seatbelt replaced since it has started to fray...

Default Strut knock

Anyone with an 08 having this same problem of a knocking sound coming from the driver's side front strut when going over bumps or gutter/driveways? It happens to me rather intermittently but I think it deserves some concern. I figured Honda would have amended the problem for the later models.

knocking sound....maybe it is 'pop'ing noise if i described it right? lol
anyways i do have a similar noise kicking in once in a while and my car is barely a two-months old

i dont mind about it too much since i do have da warranty for three more yrs...maybe i could go into dealer and show them it's bad and they will fix it for me...hopefully
