My sedan is at the body shop now and the front bumper is busted up pretty badly.
What would I need to do a complete 89 to 91 cosmetic changeover?
I am talking strictly outside looks. No interior mods.
My car is an 89 LX.

ooook.
Well, that's alotta sheeit.
Tell me something. Which version looks better? I haven't layed eyes on enough sedans to tell the difference. I figure since 90-91 crxs have nice tails and bumpers that the sedans would be the same...

I had an 88 & did a 90-91 update all you need is the front & rear bumpers (fenders are the same just the little clips where that corners are at are different) filler piece, headlight (or you can even just get a hold of 90-91 headlight baskets) corner light, tail lights & door moldings trunk is also a bit different
it makes the four door look a whole lot different
I happen to have a set of four door tails for sale
90-91

88-89 looks like this just no lip & no stickers

oK, i i just spoke to my paint and body guy and he said he can get the parts for a good price from Certifit(aftermarket I assume?)
Have any of you ever bought aftermarket body parts before? How did they turn out?
I just got through checking out the EF Sedan Squad thread and damn, what a difference between 88/89 and 90/91.
The 90's models look much more sleek looking.
If Certifit is a no no, then where can I order the OEM parts for cheap? Do they still make the OEM spoiler for the car?

I seriously doubt it. All we are talkin about is a few easy to swap body parts. Besides, I bout the 89 for 800 and it runs perfectly.
There was a guy selling a 91 EX model but it sold for $2500 and that was too rich for me.
Another thing I like about the 88 89 models are the pillar mounted seatbelts. No auto door belts to slap me in the face.

I got my hatch for $700. So what
The OP obviously has a car in at least decent running condition, so keep it.
The 88-89 vs. 90-91 bumpers is all a personal preference. IMHO the 88-89 bumpers look better. Do whatever YOU like
Also, at http://hondaautomotiveparts.com you can get a new bumper for around $150. I don't know how much certifit is charging your body man, but their parts are hit or miss with fit. BUT, if it fits fine, then do it!
Why????

Go to as many junk yards as you can. I would imagine you could find everything for cheap. Plus everything will be OEM. Good luck on your swap. I did the same thing to my 88 DX. Post in the squad when you get pix

i do like da 88 and 89, But problem is that, i get in and out of my EF sedan over 20 a day and drive 150 miles a day and i hate putting on seat belt. And this is my third motor.
Its seem like, JesseCRX, having a difficult time to put this parts togather.

I changed my 90-91 tails to 88-89 tails. I reckon the oldskewl ones look better. But if you where to change from 88-89 to 90-91 youll need to swap the whole trunk so you have the precut reverse light holes.
