I got 141k miles on my teg, I was gonna do a compression test and if all came out ok just slap a turbo on it, if/when the engine dies I could just swap the engine and use the same turbo right? Or should I go for the swap first?
if you got te money to swap another motor in, i sugguest you rebuild the gurrent motor. resleeve, 85 mm pistons, rods, bearings, balance, oil pump. all of that will equal out to about the same price as a swapped motor. then slap on the turbo and get bigger injectors. after you do all that you can boost higher and safer. instead of swapping in another motor after the current one dies. the one you swap in will probably have high miles on it too. and thus will die again.
a B18C *vtec* motor is gonna run $3000...with that money get stronger rods, lower compression via forged pistons and among other stuff and you'll be pulling stronger than just going through 101 stock motors
