could this cause this?
recently i tried to change my fuel filter recently but failed to succeed. i got the "out" line off but could not get the "in" off... so reluctantly i put the line back on planning on doing it when i was more recourseful or could pay to have it done.... since then when i go to start my car after it sits for several hours and takes inbetween 10-15 seconds to start up... could my fuel filter be leaking slowly to cause this? is there any cheap fix to get starting up right until i can get the filter changed?
If its not getting the right amount of fuel then there's no easy fix until you replace the filter.. It's not a hard thing to do.. It took me like 5 minutes... If you can't do it. Take it somewhere, its not good to leak fuel everywhere

uhh...do you see fuel anywhere?
It's never a good idea to start a project and not finish it. Get the filter changed so you can eliminate it from the problem should it persist.

If you smell gas, it's leaking. Whether or not it's causing the starting problem, get that fixed ASAP!!!!
Get a good set of flare nut wrenches, it's not that hard to change the filter.
Usually when I change mine, I don't get the hard line fitting tight enough on the first try. After turning on the fuel pump it will usually dribble a small amount and so I have to put the wrench on it and snug it down a bit more.
