A stock ITR taking a corner at 85... never really pushed an R that hard but sounds to me like your just pushing the R's limited in the corners? Take the corner slower or lower it.

yeh, when i get some money im probably gonna get it align and get it lower with the H&R springs.Hope this solve the case.
When the car oversteer I was racing an EvoVIII.He said that he barely didnt make that corner and that his tires was squeeling.I guess I just went in that corner too fast, but anyway I probably need an alignment after that spin and get it lower and work from there. Thanks yall

road racing is no joke, seriously dude don't go head to head against cars that are more capable

i had an EXTREMELY near miss racing a 1994 Porsche 911 round some of the back-roads near here. i was so very, very lucky i didn't damage anything.

personally i'm not sure that lowering springs is going to do anything beneficial at all. first thing i'd do is ask a friendly ITR owner nearby to take it for a little drive and see if they notice anything abnormal, and then go from there

Instead of springs, get shocks. Worn shocks are probably the cause of your instability.

Chances are your 98 shocks are no longer in ideal condition.

Really... 85 on a street + corner = Driving like an A$$

Now try this on for size... Check your air psi in the tires?

took the car out for a little drive today and seems like the car is steering to the left side.I probably needs an alignment and probably new suspension. The old one on there is probably wore out.

That sounds to me like throttle lift oversteer. Don't lift or brake while mid-corner.

understeer quote

"Wet conditions, going a little too fast in gradual turn down-hill that is a slight u curver similar to this shape, (

1/2 way through the turn, my car felt really stable, but then as I got past that 1/2 point, I felt the rear end to slide a bit, and then 0.001 seconds later, I the car oversteered and I found myself looking against traffic. Luckily the car that was behind me was quite a few lengths behind me and could avoid hitting me.

I didn't let off the gas, nor did I brake when I felt the rear end come out, so what did I do wrong? I tried to correct it, but obviously it didn't do anything and I did a 180 degree turn.

Luckily I didn't hit anything or damage my car, but it scared the **** out of me. The car stalled and I got the hell out of there really quickly to avoid any oncoming cars."

wow, thats what exactly happened to me.I guess its not the car unstable, its me driving stupidity. Now I probably needs an alignment
THANKS TO ALL FOR GREAT HELP WITH MY PROBLEMS

Yes

or this:
1. How many miles is on the car?
2. Get an alignment.
3. Check your air psi in the tires every month!!!!
4. Stop driving that fast. Well safe and fast (not too fast like 85mph into a 90 degree corner).
5. Better be safe then sorry.

Have fun with the car and be safe.

Or..

Just post here when you wreck it so people can call dibs on the parts.

Or go to some HPDE's and learn how to drive the car properly.

I know who's car you bought and it would be a shame for such a nice car to get destroyed, so go for the second option. Trey can tell you where various HPDE's are.. then there's always the ITR Expo.

I did the same with my ITR back in '99. It taught me one of the best lessons about driving cars in that no amount of mods could ever replace the skill of a driver.

Next time it gets "loose" in the corner, stay on the gas and drive through it. The R doesn't like pussies.

That being said, you should be doing this stuff on a track, not on a public road.
