Default 4k limit on d16z6?????

so im new to the sohc game and i have a d16z6 in a cx. i think i may have put about a half of a quart too much oil in it and now it his hitting some limiter at 4k, feels like a fuel cut off. is this related to the engine having too much oil? or is it some other problem. motor has 100k and runs good,(with the exception of the 4k limiter right now) doesnt burn oil or anything like that. TIA

easy with the language buddy, no i dont beleive adding an extra 1/2 quart of oil will cause you to hit the rev limiter at 4k, i may be mistaken becuase at that rpm oil pressure does rise and oil pressure sensors (i would think) could cause the engine to stall. why dont you just drain some oil or change the oil?

just did change it and then i was like **** its at over 4 qt's(i used to throwing 4 in a b18c) so im guessing i overloaded it with oil, but then i let a good half qt. out and its still doing the same thing. and this stall only happens when your givin it more than 70% throttle

a local junkyard is cheap, ebay is your next best bet. all b-series and d-series TPS are the same
