Got my car back with 10 pt cage what you guys think?.
Looks good... but why is the front bar so low ? And are the double bends in the down bars legal ? I thought someone said dual bends is not legal.
Well I talked to a couple of people that fab cages and they said that as long it is welded to the floor I shouln't have a problem on the down bars.
I actually seen a few people with the bars like that.

You mean next to the pillar where it makes that bend going down to the floor?.

looks good, The only thing that I see that might be a problem is your front floor plates.... I thought they had to be 6x6 solid plate, it looks like yours have been cut and not bent.
Other than that looks good

This is fine. It's allowed.
Cage looks nice, but I agree the front halo bars are weird.

looks good. Plates are 6"x6" minimum area, techs won't care. Would have like to see the dash bar up a little higher. Dash won't be to bad. Trim carefully and it will be all good!
Hey guys thanks for the opinions. Well i just hope that it passes tech, the dash bar seems low to me also, but hey is welded already what can i do! I like the way it came out. I know getting the dash in is gonna be a project.
What do you use to trim the dash?

for any other kind of racing besides drag racing the rear bars arent allowed to have any bends, they have to be straight to the base plates. also ive never really liked the " halo" style cage, one piece a pillar bars are the way to go. but the actual work itself looks pretty good. its welded on top too right?
oh i just noticed the door bars are really high, i think the rule book says it has to be between the elbow and shoulder. you should get your bucket in there and make sure its not higher than your shoulder.
also im not sure if its required but id put a verticle driver bar on the main hoop in case of rollover.

I checked for the hight of the door bar and yes is between my shoulder and elbow and guess the reason it looks high is do to the stock civic seat. Thanks fot the input.

Yeah, that looks like a shin buster in a wreck

Your cage will not pass tech.
The rear bars are longer than 30" so you need a minimum of 4 bars going rearward.
Read the rulebook, it's all there.
Is it a drag cage? The rear bars are bent and mount in the wrong spot. The cage should have a diagonal bar that runs from the base of the main hoop to above the driver. I don't understand why the door bars are mounted so high on the hoop, why not to where the straight bar the goes across is mounted? It's your money, you should demand a properly built cage. Now I am talking about a road race cage, not a grag cage, but they really shouldn't differ that much in their design.
The bends look great and the welds are nice, it look slike a well built cage, just not well designed.

Hello everyone. Thanks for all the opinions, the guy that built my cage he builds alot of drag cars 3/4 chassis and all tube chassi cars. He put it together knowing it was for drag racing. He said it all NHRA legal. But I will let you guys know when i take the car to get the cage inspected if it pass or not. If it dosen't he'll just simply have to change it around a make it legal.
keep all opinions coming.

The plates look good they should be tied to the rocker box, I,ve seen rear bars like that I hope its because yuor running rear seats, The door bars look a little high Not bad though I think it looks worse because the shoulder bar is a little low, and the dash bar is not doing its job which is to keep the windsheild runners from collapsing inward, It should be up at the bends so thats a long ways off. It will prolly pass but I would expect more from a chassis guy.
