Will Slicks make a difference?
This weekend i am going to race this kids prelude who has been talking **** on my car. i've already beat him once.. but not my much.. this time he wants to race for money.. one of my good buddies has a pair of slicks in his garage and wants me to put them on for the race.. will i get a better launch with them? will it pick up fatser? is it worth putting them on for one night??
awesome thanks dude.... the kid has a prelude SH but he can't drive worth a **** and doesn't know how to launch.. he has a lot more top end power than i do.. so i figure with the slicks i can launch on his ***. and have enough room that he won't pull
ya man. i was gonna say u beat a prelude with almost a stock ls? ya be careful, pull on him off the start, once ur 2 cars ahead about to go into 3rd, just put ur hazards on to claim the race and get ur money. because eventually he is ognna catch up and fly by you. also do a good burn out to heat ur tires up before u run
last time we raced he started to pull in fourth gear, but i was only a car ahead of him so i figure with the slicks i can get more of a lead

Yes slicks will help, with you in a nearly stock LS you better hope you can drive and you better hope dude in the SH can't. Be careful running for money, if you miss a gear you lose and lose the money.
How much are you racing for anyway?

i'm not cocky but i know i can drive. and i know for a fact he CANNOT DRIVE. He's a stupid little EMO kid with girl pants and hair all over his face. were gonna race for 50 bucks.. i won last time.. barely.. so i figure with slicks i'll get a better launch like i said
i know slicks are not like nitrous or a turbo. i'm not stupid. i just need a better launch. cause that's all i got on his car
umm.. i wouldnt race him.. he probably see how fast ur car is the first time and you barely beat him.. he might have done something to his car
thats why he wants to race for money..

well i got raped by an h22 this summer, in my gsr so...id be very careful. make sure you shift well, bc he has very very long gears, and that motor runs them well.
yes Slicks will make a difference but be sure to warm them up before you run. be careful though he has a lot of power on you. might even want to try ditching some weight before you run, take out your jack and spare tire and all that crap.
i forgot to tell you his car is completely stock.. and has 4 big *** subs in the back of his car.he just thinks he's a bad *** cause he's got vtec
slicks will give u that launch that ur lookin for but for ur stock car they can be dangerous and can break somthing . what makes u think that the dude with the vtec lude isnt gonna run some juice or somthing.vtec ludes aint slow there top end is pretty good even with a shity driver.

With a stock setup don't worry about it I have a Stock LS block in my CRX with DC Sports header and full Exhaust as well as a short ram intake. I always run with slicks when I take it to the track. and I'm on stock axles. Ive seen 200+ HP setups on stock axles, I wouldnt do it myself anything over 200hp I'd want better axles but I've seen it done.

yea that weight is going to hurt him, like I said ditch some weight in your car and don't make any mistakes. also make a few practice runs on the slicks it drives a little different with the added traction.
bla Vtec is good its not "BAD ***" as some people put it.

dude honestly trust me he has nothing done to his car. i know he has a lot of top end power. he can't afford an exhaust.. let alone nitrous
yeah i figured i would put them on earlier.. do a couple burn outs and get used to them before i just out there and expletive up and make myself look like a dumb ***
