strange iacv (I think?) problem.
Hi!
I finished swapping a d16a6 in my 91 civic Dx about 1 month ago, I havent really driven it yet since I don`t have my liscence. I have a strange idle problem. If the iacv is pluged with the good plug, the car idles at 2000 rpms, stays there and then very slowly climbs to 3000 rpms, then if I let it run more than 15 mins, the idle will drop instantly to 1500 then slowly drop to 1100 rpms 5 mins later. No check engine.
how ever, if I take the IAT plug, put it in the IACV and take the IACV plug and put it in the IAT, the car idles perfectly stable at 750 rpms, the engine is as reponsive and all, however the check engine light comes on, and if I turn off the car, it wont start again.
wtf mate?

Is it possible that the two sensors were wired backwards somehow? I've always heard of the reverse problem when the two sensors are hooked up incorrectly.....
Have you tried adjusting the FITV yet?

possible, the car has a wire-tuck, but I wasn`t the one who did it, I just got the car a month ago with a blown d16y7 in it, the last owner who is my friend said that the idle was fine before the engine blew, I cleaned the iacv, and also adjusted the FITV (which only worked when the iacv was unplugged by the way)
thanks for your respone
