Searched for several minuted and looked though a couple threads with no help. I'm going to look at my Helms tonight, but I'll go ahead and ask too.
Is it easy to remove the proportional valve and brake lines without damaging the lines or valve? My brother is spraying my engine bay and I was debating on removing the lines or not

when i put my 4040 and my teg booster and madter cyl. on there was no mess and very simple to take on and off... it was a bitch to get all of the lines to line up so they dont cross thread and thats about it. i say do it.
be sure an buy a brake line wrench. It looks like a box end but has a cutout so it will go over the brake line but more completely circles the flair nut.

Sounds good. Since I am most likely keeping the stock prop valve I should be good with the lines going back in properly.

I have the set from Harbor Freight. I may for the hell of it purchase a Craftsman brake line wrench. But, I did use the harbor freight wrench (designed for brakes) with no problems when I did my rear drums to disc
Thanks guys for the feedback!!

I've removed the lines from older cars many times. You might find that even with a flare wrench (box with the cut to fit over the line), it will still start to flex and not hold. Before you round over the fitting, put a vice grip over the flare wrench box and clamp it onto the fitting. If you don't have the room, a flat vice grip on the fitting itself might be necessary. I've done that too and the fittings have been fine afterwards. A bit of penetrating oil and overnight wait can do wonders too.
