lower control arms
Can anybody tell me which way the little curve is supposed to face (OEM LCA)
I'm putting my suspension back together and when I go to bolt in the lower control arms the inner end (that bolts to the subframe) is about 1.5" too far forwards (to the front of the car).
I tried both arms and both do that. Any suggestions?
I can force it into place but it doesn't seem right.
Nothing is bent.

Towards the front....thanks, that's how I have it.
I'll just push everything together and onece the weight of the car is on the wheels hopefully the geometry will work better.

Until you strip one out and don't bother putting the swaybar back on because the control arm bolts are seized and you don't want to change the ****
So the stock arms are supposed to have that little bend in them? I'm so used to my old CRX that when I saw the arms on this civic hatch I just bought I freaked. Also, what purpose would it serve?

yeah its supposed to have a bend. i have no idea why its there, i can speculate, but its not worth guessing.
most rear lca dont have the swaybar holes. so its not easy to figure out.

I'm pretty damn sure that those bends are there so that if you hit something, the arm will bend before your suspension point/frame does.

Okay here are the pics:

It was like that on both sides. We basically just had 2 big guys push as hard as we could and got everything to bolt up.
All buttoned up.

Seems to sit fine and bouncing the rear seems to take a normal amount of force, I don't think there's any binding.

Just need to do an alignment then I'll take it for a spin.
Every single bushing in the rear suspension is new.
