Went to the Track - Part 2
Well since the weather finally cleared out around here I decided to take the car back to the track to see if I can work on a better time than the 14.96 I had done last time. Same mods and all, CAI and DCRH.
This time I did better. I managed to pull out a 14.76@96.36mph. .71 reaction time. Time slip will be up soon. Thats down from a 15.4 @ 92mph stock time, so I thought it was alright.
Keep in mind this is with a slight headwind, no tune, stock all-seasons, slight wheel-hop, and a hefty 262 lbs. behind the wheel
(gotta shave some weight).

Ive never been to a track so this might seem noobish but when you launch why not launch at 2500rpm so there is no hop or etc then rip it from there or by launching at 4500rpm or 5500rpm whatever is will put you in vtec right away is the correct way to do it ?
This is prob a stupid question but i was curious if anyone does it this way or its a must to launch at high rpm.

I've tried launching at all rpm ranges from 2500 to the stationary limiter. At the limiter there is too much wheel hop to yield a decent 60 ft. time. At 2500rpm the car bogs cause there is soo much grip on the track. I know this cause i can launch at 2500rpm on the street and when I floor it the tires break loose all the way up to red line. At the track when I launch THAT low the tires grip instantly and the car bogs....yielding yet another crappy 60ft. Either that or the track i'm at isn't callibrated accurately. Different tracks yield different results...i've seen people "supposedly" running 14.6 stock or trapping 100mph with just an intake.....which is just flat out bull.
My next plan is to put some better tires on the car than the factory all seasons and try launching a little bit higher.....perhaps 3500 or so to prevent bogging. I'll play with it some more and see what I can do.

nice, I feel your pain with texas weather..humidity kills our times. I just bought my si sedan today. Look forward to hitting the track sometime to see how I do.
