Default Cold Air Intake Question

I have a cold air intake with a by pass valve on my B16a. now my concern is that it is close to the wheel and I dont have the splash guard or the rubber lining that goes by the fender. I am concerned that when I drive, although I have the bypass valve some water will still enter my engine because it is being hit upwards by the wheel. Can the Bypass valve take care of this or am I just being too paranoid?

Yeah I too want to know if california rain will send any water up with a cold air without the plastic guard being on. I've heard it's only when there are serious puddles that you should worry but just to clarify...

Ditch the "cold air" and do a short ram with a stack, you'll make more power and not hafta worry about water.

I have a cold air, and a bypass on my DC2, i just took off the bypass, and put the filter on where the bypass goes (which makes it a short ram) when i know it's going to rain. I run the cold when it's not going to rain for a little while. hope that helps

If your engine takes in a little water, it won't even be close to what is needed to hydro-lock it...that's the whole purpose of the bypass valve. So yes you'll be safe and yes you will probably suck up a slight amount of water but it's the large amounts that cause problems.
