there was a wierd sound comin from the distributor kinda like a little knockin,than at times the car would jus lose power and turn off..recently the car jus ran ok than it jus died on me and when i turn it on,it idles like at 200-300 rpms for about 3-5seconds and completely dies...

its obvious that somethin is wron wit my dizzy but why would it make that knockin sound??

 

Take your dizzy cap off there is a little set screw that holds the rotor on. That screw came out and that is why your car wont run and there is that noise.

Tighten the crew and see what happens.

 

the knockin can be something loose inside or the bearings could be bad. ur car shutin off can be the distributer can be over heatin which causes to turn off can be the ignitor or the coil but if its making noise internal like the bearings just get another one if thats not the only problem wit ur car

 

its the bearing..where would i jus get another bearing at?

 

to much of a hard time to replace just go out and pick up a used one or if u wanna spend more buck buy a new distributor and keep the coil and ignitor for spare parts wen u might need them
