Are salvage title cars really worth that much?

lol i think the seller got lazy and figured no one see this as strange and very unlikely in the real world.

not to mention if the cars are bought to be driven in a smog state depending on how long the current registration is, it will be hell to get it legally smogged. but if someone likes living underthetable....

and the price... well... he did put obo so i think he is starting very high opting to go lower.

if a salvaged title 2000 itr isnt worth $12500, then a clean title 2000-2001 wouldnt be worth 16-17000 right?

How can a clean title bring about a 3.5-4.5k difference. I thought it would be a difference of $2000 max. Is it because this car doesnt have the original motor and has an JDM motor or is it just because it was salvaged?

the insurance company claims that a salvage title reduces the value of the car by 40% .. i just went through this with them it doesent matter how clean the car is they will still value it like this

depending on which insurance company you have. i know state farm doesnt care if the car is salvaged or not. they pay out the bluebook value no matter if its salvaged or not.

It's all in what people are willing to pay - especially with ITRs. This guy might get lucky and find some willing buyers. The price on the 2000 is better (not good, but better) than the 98. Frankly though, the salvage title DOES hurt the price quite a bit more than 20-30% from what I've seen.

If I were looking for an ITR I would give this a shot. Salvage Rs are a good way to get yourself into an ITR cheap...a lot of them have gone through very painstaking restorations, more so than any other kind of car I've seen.

A little cheaper, and these things would be good deals.

true. my brother and my buddy both got paid in full when they got in accidents 4-5 years back. my gf also got paid in full last year when her civic was stolen. all three cars were salvage title and were with state farm.

that is true. i guess you pay for what you get. i hate paying for insurance it feels like its never being put to good use. When you do end up using it, it's such a hassle.
